LOOKING FOR TUITION?
There are a few different ways you can learn guitar, you can find lessons online, have an online Tutor delivering Guitar lessons via webcam, or you can do face to face lessons with a Guitar Tutor. I'll break these down for you and give my opinion on what is best for you and your growth.
Online lessons/courses
There are free lessons online such as those on my site, youtube etc but they don't work for everyone and can actually harm your learning in certain cases, if you spend hours learning one way from a random guy on youtube that might not know what he's doing, then we're practicing playing badly, and getting better... at playing badly. As a guitar tutor who's had students come to me with bad form from misguided lessons, I'd say that solid form and technique from an early stage will save you A LOT of time later on. Not to say that free lessons are bad but they're not as precise or in depth as one-to-one tuition.
Skype Tutor
Some Guitar Teachers offer online lessons via webcam, there are pros and cons to this, you can have lessons at home if you're not able to get to your tutors house or work out some kind of travel arrangement, however without face to face contact even the best guitar teacher can't be as useful to you as they would be in person. This is a trade-off I find to be not worth it.
In-Person Tuition
This is the standard for Guitar Tuition, from beginners struggling to get a good sound out of the guitar, to intermediates who have hit plateus, even advanced players looking to take their playing to the next level with expert guidance, being able to physically jam and interact with another guitar player (escepially if they're a great musician) will always beat webcam/online lessons.
